My 2023–24 Faculty Job Search: What I Learned from 50 Applications, 6 Zoom Interviews, and 4 Campus Visits

During the 2023–24 faculty job market cycle, I applied to nearly 50 R1 institutions. Out of those, I was invited for Zoom interviews at 6 places and had the opportunity to visit 4 universities for in-person interviews. I even had a second visit to one of them—but in the end, I did not receive an offer.
